It's almost Christmas!

Today, marks the end of first term or Michaelmas term! Whohoo! Hold your horses, overzealous student, it doesn't mean the work is over. Classes may be over but assignments need to be finished and more books need to be read.

With the end of term also came the Soviet Santa party. Oxymoron much? The theme was open to interpretation. While most people donned a Santa hat and a plastic gun, I opted for a more KGB-inspired look. The evening was great; no Sputnik, only a lot of fun. :)

Comrade, mission accomplished!

If any of you would like to join the British Intelligence Service (like James Bond), here's the test. According to the New York Times, this is an actual application and not a hoax.

The end of the year brings many good things including vacation and the annual word of the year. This year's winner is... ready for it? Its tergiversate:
to change repeatedly one's attitude or opinions with respect to a cause, subject, etc.; equivocate.
As in, the British weather is constantly tergiversating!

Look at this lovely cake!

Does it remind you of any Oxfordian building? Yup.

And as you all get into the holiday spirit, one last thought...
